Artek E60 Stool
The E60 Stool by Artek is a 4-legged stackable stool with sleek, sophisticated and unmistakably modern design. The Artek E60 was designed by Alvar Aalto: "The stool's L-leg was revolutionary for its technical realization and it represented a boost for all the modern Scandinavian design. The secret of the original Aalto stool´s success lies in its legs´unique bends that eventually became the distinctive feature of all Aalto furniture." E60 stool was presented for the first time in 1933 and it was a sensation in the design world of his time.

About Artek
Artek was founded in 1935 by four young idealists: Alvar and Aino Aalto, Maire Gullichsen, and Nils-Gustav Hahl. The business strategy of the company was “to sell furniture and to promote a modern culture of living by exhibitions and other educational means”. The founders of Artek advocated a new kind of environment for everyday life. They believed in a grand synthesis of the arts and wanted to make a difference in architecture and design as well as in town planning.
